Look Book

“LOOKBOOK.nu” is a fashion and youth culture website, created by Yuri Lee in San Francisco. It is an online fashion diary which was inspired by street fashion websites and blogs such as The Sartorialist and designed for users to post their own street-fashion photography, featuring themselves and their outfits.

We have started something a bit similar in the office, snapping polaroids if anyone has a cool outfit on that day. Maybe we should set up a company account to upload to?

The website is free and allows everyone to join. It recently changed their invitation-only system to a new open service. It now allows users to share their looks and activity in Facebook,Twitter and Tumblr. Their goal is to give fashion inspiration from real people and by this change they hope to gain more diversity.

My favourite thing about the site is that people can tag their photos to allow you to see where each piece of their outfit has been purchased from, (this is pretty deadly though as you can end up buying a whole new outfit in seconds).

The site is constantly updated with new looks, displaying styles from around the world. It’s the perfect site to look at if you have got into a bit of a fashion rut, you’ll soon be inspired by what every one is wearing.
