After weeks of campaign planning, the time had finally come this weekend to kick off the 2012 NHS Hull iBreastfeed campaign, with the photo shoot of all our lovely new families.

Following the success of the 2010 campaign, the project was re-commissioned by NHS Hull using a group of new families to promote the benefits of breastfeeding to new parents in Hull.

Force-7 Creative Manager, Beccie, was very excited to be leading the project for the second time, as well as Art Directing the shoot to ensure we got all the shots we’ll need for the posters, postcards and magazine that will be distributed this summer.

Force-7 Project Manager, Jo, was also there to interview all of our lovely 2012 families, to find out their experiences of breastfeeding that will become the articles in the magazine – so make sure to grab a copy when they go out in June!

We met 16 families in total – with breastfed babies ranging from a few months old to a few years old. We had some babies just with their mums, some with supportive dads, some with loving grannies and some with brothers and sisters.

We even caught up with Jazz from the 2010 campaign – whose YouTube tutorial on how to express breast milk has racked up over 1million views! It’s great to see that she is still breastfeeding Reuben and since taking part in the first campaign, has trained as a breastfeeding peer supporter and is looking to a career in breastfeeding support – all thanks to iBreastfeed!

Here’s hoping that the 2012 mums will all feel as inspired as Jazz and will help us to promote the benefits of breastfeeding across the city when the campaign launches around National Breastfeeding Awareness Week in June.

Thank you to everyone involved – we had a fantastic couple of days and are really looking forward to working on the campaign over the upcoming months. A lovely day had by all!
