One hour per second

That’s how much video is uploaded to YouTube every second of the day.
To illustrate just how much video that is YouTube have create http://www.onehourpersecond.com/ to show regular YouTube goers just how long them hours can go.

For every 1.5 seconds that passes 91 minutes of video is uploaded, which is also how long it takes the International Space Station to orbit around the Earth once.

After 24 seconds have passed that’s a whole days worth of new YouTube videos, and as highlighted by YouTube themselves, a Nyan Cat will have said “Nyan” 345,600 times!

These new statistics show just how much we loved sharing in 2011 but we don’t love sharing anywhere as near as we love watching. As of the beginning of this month YouTube have been getting 4 billion views a day worldwide. That’s equivalent to just over half of the world watching one video a day!
