Gin Time! When my brother over Christmas dinner persuaded me to try port while telling me it was THE drink to have due to the ‘Downton Abbey’ effect I was pretty surprised that people my age were all sipping on port. But now according to a survey recently carried out by Sainsburys, the sale of gin has shot up by more than 60% over the past year among the 18-24 age group. I must admit I have recently started drinking gin (particularly since I am on a low calorie diet) and I am always have gin time! I thought as a quick experiment I would see what my friends thought and it seems we have gone gin crazy…well apart from my American friend Leif, so I guess the USA haven’t caught on just yet! I wonder which drink will boom this year….
